WELCOME TO MY NEW BLOG!

Written By Ryan

Ryan Anys_SidebarSmTo the uninitiated: WELCOME to my new blog! So glad you stopped by :-)
And an extra special welcome – BIG HELLO TO – if you’ve found your way here from my former Marketing Expertise Blog. Thanks for joining the brand new PARTAY.
If you were a follower of that blog, you’re already aware that I took a bit of powder late last fall. And the shop has remained closed, so to speak, since then. All except for one final update announcing the launch of this blog.
Never fear, however, as I’ve transferred all of the valuable Marketing Expertise blog content to this blog.
Sadly, I haven’t spent the elapsed time lounging on the beach, sipping mojitos and basking in the glorious sun. Instead, I’ve been toiling away in the salt mines…re-branding my business, launching a new website, cultivating a new online presence, and preparing to LAUNCH THIS BLOG! (Which I sincerely hope you LIKE!)

What’s Old is What’s New

OK, we’ve got the administrative BS out of the way. Let me give you a quick tour of my brand new blog…
It’s All About Marketing! (That was probably an easy guess, right? ;-)
Much the same as Marketing Expertise, this blog covers all facets of marketing. But the content here is geared toward professional services providers (real estate professionals, attorneys, accounts, and financial planners), entrepreneurs and startups. And, of course, small businesses. (How could I desert my old friends?)

Topics will include…

-Setting marketing goals and developing strategy
-Planning and budgets
-Marketing Media and Tactics, including:

  • Print media (biz cards, flyers, brochures, newsletters, publication ads and the like that build your brand, attract new customers and increase your profits)
  • Direct marketing (direct mail and broadcast email campaigns that SELL)
  • Digital marketing (website content that persuades and converts, blogs that inform and entice, social media that engages and email that connects)
  • Customer service (and why it contributes BIG TIME to the success of your marketing)

Special Features

In addition to regular posts on the marketing staples referenced above, my new blog will also incorporate several value packed special features.

The Local Business Blitz

Necessity is, as “they” say, the mother of invention. And nowhere is this more apparent than in small local business realm. Forced to manage marketing on a laughably tiny budget, small businesses use this “obstacle” to their advantage, and GET CREATIVE.
The results yield some genuinely convention-busting creativity. In fact, many successful local businesses exercise some of the most imaginative strategies and tactics I’ve ever seen.
In the Local Biz Blitz, I’ll profile these businesses, highlighting their creativity and ingenuity. More importantly for your purposes, I’ll deconstruct why their techniques are so effective, and how you can apply them to your business.

The TinBu Articles

In 2010 I was tapped to contribute small business-related articles for a fledgling start-up web-community known as TinBu. The site was slated to be a combination news aggregator and social media platform (think Yahoo! meets Facebook). The site was still in development. So I began to draft articles.
My goal was to generate a three month content backlog. This would give me a cushion and relieve the pressure of weekly content creation (and maybe free up enough time to take a week off to finally have that beach side mojito).
Predictably, there were delays. So I just kept writing. But after diligently crafting an article per week for more than eight months, I was learned the TinBu project was being scraped.
Boohoo! Not really though. Their loss is your gain. I’ll regularly post valuable, actionable small business marketing content culled from my TinBu archives under the heading: The TinBu Articles.

Thanks for Dropping By!

That’s really all there is to say about the new blog (for the moment anyway).
I sincerely hope you enjoy it (and come back often)!

CHEERS!
P.S. Taking a page from internet marketing giants, Copyblogger, I’m closing comments on this blog and inviting readers to comment on my Google+ page. So after each new post, I’ll see you there.
